Danish Government Scholarships | University of Copenhagen – Fully funded

OVERVIEW

The Danish Government Scholarship program, offered by the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), provides a limited number of tuition waivers and grants to highly talented students with exceptional academic records from non-EU/EEA countries. These scholarships are competitive, and all non-EU/EEA applicants who are admitted to a master’s degree program at the University will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

The Danish Government Scholarship can be awarded as either full or partial tuition fee waivers, as well as an additional amount to cover basic living costs.

The scholarships are awarded solely based on academic achievement, without considering financial need. Specific selection criteria and procedures for each faculty can be found at the bottom of the relevant webpage.

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship include:

  • Citizenship from a country outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.
  • Admission to a master’s degree program at the University of Copenhagen.
  • Possession of a time-limited residence permit for the purpose of studying a higher educational program in Denmark.

You are not eligible for the Danish Government Scholarship if you:

  • Have legal entitlement to the rights of Danish citizens.
  • Qualify for a grant under the Danish law regarding the State Educational Grant and Loan Scheme (SU).
  • Have been granted a residence permit based on the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9c, subsection 1, as the child of a foreign citizen who has been granted a residence permit according to the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9m, and if the child is a citizen of a country that is neither a member of the EU nor covered by the EEA agreement.

The scholarship is awarded without the need for a separate application. All non-EU/EEA applicants to UCPH’s MA/MSc degree programs will automatically be considered. The university will contact nominees via the email address provided in their application for admission. Nominees must either accept or decline the scholarship within the specified deadline.

The scholarship is offered in the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Humanities
  • Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
  • Faculty of Science
  • Faculty of Theology
