Overview of Mastercard Foundation Undergraduate Scholar’s Program
The Undergraduate Scholars Program is a joint initiative between the Mastercard Foundation and the University of Gondar, aimed at providing scholarship opportunities for Ethiopian youth to pursue their undergraduate studies at the University of Gondar. These scholarships cover both the academic and non-academic expenses of the scholars as they pursue their studies in various fields.
Over a period of 10 years, a total of 290 undergraduate scholarships will be offered. In addition to covering tuition fees and accommodations, the Scholars Program also focuses on providing training in life skills, communication skills, social skills, and entrepreneurial skills to support the scholars in their personal development.
Applications are now open for Ethiopian applicants who wish to be full-time students at the University of Gondar for the Fall September 2021 intake.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be Ethiopian citizens
- Have a visual, hearing, or mobility disability.
- Have taken the two most recent Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examinations (EHEECEs).
- Have attained the required scores on the EHEECE for admission to higher education institutions, either in the Regular or Extension programs.
Applicants will also be considered based on financial need, leadership/community involvement, and potential. It’s important to note that these undergraduate scholarships are not available for international students.
The University of Gondar is currently accepting applications for undergraduate programs in the fields of
- Social Science
- Health
- Engineering.
