About the UNDP Graduate Programme

The UNDP is initiating its second cycle of the 2-year Graduate Programme and is actively seeking candidates to join the 2023 Graduate Programme Pool.

The objective of the Programme is to equip exceptional young graduates with the necessary skills and experience to launch a career in international development, accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, foster better futures, and create a positive impact on the world.

What we provide: Assignment

Sustainable Development Goals

The Graduate Programme offers a distinctive opportunity to contribute to UNDP’s mission. It involves a 2-year assignment in one of our country, regional, or headquarters offices. Assignments are focused on areas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, with two main streams:

  1. Programme and Policy: In this stream, you will contribute to UNDP’s program and project activities.
  2. Corporate Operations: In this stream, you will contribute to management services that support the effective implementation of UNDP programs or work in the area of organizational policies, processes, and oversight.

Successful applicants will be included in the Graduate Programme Pool and offered assignments in any of UNDP’s 170 locations worldwide.

Who we are seeking:

We are seeking candidates who are available to join UNDP from the first quarter of 2023 onwards and meet the following criteria:

Education

  • Completed Master’s degree in a relevant field (with up to 2 years of work experience), or
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (with a minimum of 2 years and up to 3 years of relevant, paid work experience)

We encourage applications from a diverse range of relevant degree programs:

  • For the Programme and Policy stream: Political science, public administration, international relations, development studies, economics, statistics, data management, environmental science, or related fields.
  • For the Corporate Operations stream: Business or public administration, finance, law, procurement or supply chain management, human resources management, economics, data management, or related fields.

You should have some experience in one or more of the following areas: UNDP programme areas (poverty and inequality, governance, resilience, environment, energy, gender equality), business operations, project management, partnerships, innovation, digitalization, or data analysis and management.

Preference will be given to those who have made an impact at the community, provincial, or national level (including in civil society, government, NGOs, IGOs, or individually).

Other Requirements

  • You must be a national of one of the countries where UNDP works to support the Sustainable Development Goals.
